Commissioned after the devastating Mataafa Storm of 1905 and completed in 1910, Split Rock Lighthouse proudly stands atop a 133-foot cliff on the edge of Lake Superior.
The Light safely guided ships until her retirement in 1969. Split Rock Lighthouse and an accompanying museum are now operated by the Minnesota Historical Society.
