Big Announcement: Store Closing

After nearly five years, we have decided to close Nord Coast.

When we founded Nord Coast, our hope was to build a brand that connected people with the Great Lakes region. Unfortunately, busy day jobs and growing family obligations made dedicating sufficient time to the project difficult. We also realized that the pressure to sell goods unintentionally distorted our relationship with the lakes, turning trips to the beach into potential photo ops...

Realizing this, we have decided to sunset the Nord Coast business so that we can pursue more genuine connections with the Great Lakes.

One way we are reestablishing our connection with the Great Lakes is through the new non-profit adventure club - The Great Lakes Expeditionary Club (GLEC).

The mission of the Great Lakes Expeditionary Club is to get people on the water by creating maritime expeditions and races.

The GLEC’s first race is the Rust Belt 950, a 950-mile sail, paddle and rowing race from Chicago, IL to Buffalo, NY.

So what are we doing with all our inventory?

We plan to liquidate all inventory and use the proceeds to jumpstart the GLEC.

Starting today all Nord Coast apparel will be clearance priced. Tees will be $5, Sweatshirts $10, and headwear $5. Pennants will move to a new Etsy shop. (We hand cut and sew them as a hobby and plan to keep that going).

So, if you want to help make the Great Lakes Expeditionary Club and Rust Belt 950 a reality, please head over to Nord Coast’s website and grab some USA-made goods.

Thank you. See you on the water.
